Energy Monitoring and BEMS in South Yorkshire

Energy Metering + BMS Upgrades at a Distribution Centre in South Yorkshire

Watsons Building Services were commissioned by a valued client to help reduce energy consumption across one of their distribution and packaging warehouses in South Yorkshire.

To achieve this, we designed, installed and commissioned the energy monitoring infrastructure that would allow the client to continuously monitor energy usage.

The project involved installing a series of sub-meters across the site on their incoming gas, water and electricity services.  We upgraded their Building Energy Management System (BEMS) to monitor the meters remotely via Modbus Outputs.

Several changes were made to the existing systems to integrate them with the monitoring infrastructure. These included the installation of a new gas header, new gas solenoid and emergency control valves to meet regulations, and electrical wiring throughout.

The data received by the monitors has enabled the client to investigate areas of high energy consumption and identify ways to reduce usage.
