Gas-Fired Heater Replacement at a Manufacturing Centre in Keighley
The project involved the upgrade and replacement of a series of gas-fired warm air heaters at a Factory and Distribution Centre. This project also included the design, supply, installation and commissioning of additional Radiant Tube heating systems to areas of the warehouse.
Twelve gas-fired heaters were isolated, degassed and removed from the site and replaced with high-efficiency gas-fired heaters. As part of the heater installation, gas pipework was altered to accommodate the new layout and new twin wall flues were installed to serve each heater.
The client had issues regarding cold spots within their warehouse, especially where operatives were standing for long periods of time. To overcome this, we installed gas-fired radiant tube heaters above the workstations, fed by a new dedicated gas supply and complete with all necessary gas valves and purge points to meet regulatory standards.
To avoid operatives in the warehouse becoming cold during the installation work, we isolated, stripped out and replaced each heater in turn, negating any temperature drop during the process. The installation was completed in a timely manner to leave the warehouse operatives enjoying a more comfortable working environment during the winter months.
