Mechanical and Electrical Installations for Fitness Centre

Watsons Building Services Ltd played a pivotal role in the redesign and implementation of mechanical and electrical services installations for the extensive redevelopment project at Ilkley Tennis & Squash Club. This ambitious venture encompassed the construction of a new two-storey gym and fitness center, an upgraded entrance foyer, and the refurbishment of the existing reception and car park. The club house, a central component, featured six changing rooms, two officials' changing rooms, each equipped with shower facilities, and a versatile function room with a licensed bar and kitchen on the first floor. The mechanical services extended to the incorporation of comfort air conditioning and mechanical heat recovery ventilation in various areas, including the gymnasium, fitness center, entrance foyer, therapy room, and office spaces.

Adaptations and extensions were made to the existing LTHW system for enhanced efficiency in circulation areas. The electrical installation, marked by LED general lighting, scene setting capabilities, and specialized color-changing mood lighting, transformed the ambience in the gymnasium, fitness center, and entrance foyer. Moreover, fire and security enhancements were seamlessly integrated into the new extension, alongside the installation of data cabling to support the gymnasium equipment, ensuring a comprehensive and modernized facility for the Ilkley Tennis & Squash Club.

Project Scope
