Turnkey M&E Services for a Primary School Sports Hall in Halifax

Watsons Building Services delivered a comprehensive mechanical and electrical services package for a new build assembly hall at a primary school in Halifax. Working as part of a design and build construction project, WBS provided modern, energy-efficient systems to support the assembly hall, changing areas and toilet facilities.

The project combined effective environmental control, renewable energy integration and reliable building services infrastructure to create a comfortable, practical and future-ready educational environment.

The mechanical services works included the installation and commissioning of roof-mounted natural ventilation equipment, helping to maintain fresh air circulation throughout the building. Mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems were also installed to improve indoor air quality while supporting energy efficiency.

Domestic water services and sanitaryware installations were fully completed, tested and commissioned, providing reliable facilities across the changing and toilet areas.

Within the assembly hall, electric radiant panel heaters were installed alongside commissioned control systems, delivering responsive and efficient heating suited to the large open space.

On the electrical side, WBS completed the full power and lighting installation, including high-level electrical supplies for the heating systems and all associated controls and wiring. Final inspection, testing and certification works were successfully completed to ensure full compliance and operational performance.

As part of the project’s sustainability strategy, roof-mounted solar PV systems were integrated into the school’s mains electrical infrastructure, contributing to improved energy efficiency and reduced operational costs.

The completed project provides the school with a modern, efficient and comfortable assembly facility supported by fully integrated mechanical and electrical building services.
